This creates millions of microscopic peaks and valleys for the epoxy to grab onto, ensuring a permanent chemical and mechanical bond.

After the main floor is ground, we use hand grinders to prepare the edges and corners. We then repair any cracks or pits in the concrete using a fast curing, high strength polyurea or epoxy patching compound. The entire floor is then thoroughly vacuumed multiple times with a HEPA filtered vacuum to remove all the concrete dust. The result of this meticulous process is a perfectly clean and profiled substrate that is ready to accept the primer coat of the epoxy system. This professional preparation is the key to a floor that will not peel.

This is a common concern, but a professionally installed epoxy garage floor should not be slippery. A standard epoxy floor with a high gloss topcoat can be slippery when it is wet, just like any smooth, sealed surface. However, there is a very simple and effective way to create a non slip surface.
